Laura Causer has 8 years of experience as a teacher and middle leader. She is currently a Teacher of French & Spanish and a Specialist Leader in Education working on the Science of Learning and Metacognition at Dubai College in the UAE. Laura completed her Masters of Education in Practitioner Enquiry back in 2016, focusing on coaching and mentoring. She has since worked to develop teaching and learning with trainee and newly qualified teachers, within the MFL and Arabic departments in her previous schools and through whole-school initiatives in the form of training and CPD sessions as well as an online Science of Learning CPD platform and a student Revision and Retrieval platform. She is passionate about spaced practice and retrieval practice in particular and challenges her students to be independent, reflective and enthused about their learning.
